The Wine Tender provides a multi-functional role at the Wine Bar and Dining Room. The Wine Tender will play a crucial role in creating a delightful experience for our customers by providing expert guidance and recommendations on our extensive selection of wines.
- Deliver an exceptional customer service experience by providing superior level of service and help guests guide through our wines
- Interacts and converses with guests about all wine club offers, wine tastings and special events, and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of our wine inventory.
- Check ID’s to verify age.
- Assists customers in selecting wines based on their preferences and is knowledgeable and comfortable describing each wine.
- Provides accurate and detailed information about all wines, including tasting notes, pairings, regions, and production methods
- Operates the POS for wine sales, handling transactions accurately and efficiently
- Familiar with food menu, can describe each dish and can make wine pairing suggestions
- Responsible for overall cleanliness of the wine bar, stocking of wine glasses and wines
- Serves correct wine pours at all times and follows proper service procedures
- Follows and completes all assigned side work, helps team members as needed.
- Handles payments correctly and in a timely fashion
- Wine Tastings: Guide guests through our diverse selection of New Jersey wines with enthusiasm and expertise.
- Share stories about our vineyards, winemaking process, and the unique characteristics of each wine.
- Customer Engagement: Create a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring guests feel welcome from the moment they step through the door.
- Build relationships with customers, turning casual visitors into loyal fans of our winery.
- Pairing Recommendations: Provide personalized food and wine pairing suggestions, enhancing the overall tasting experience.
- Educational Events: Assist in organizing and hosting educational events, such as wine and cheese pairings, blending workshops, and vineyard tours.
- Passion for New Jersey Wines: An unwavering enthusiasm for our state's wine and a desire to share that passion with others.
- Storytelling Skills: The ability to turn a simple glass of wine into a captivating story, leaving a lasting impression on our guests.

- Curiosity: A desire to continually learn about wines, vineyards, and the ever-evolving world of winemaking.
- Proven experience and passion for wines, including a strong understanding of various wine regions, grape varietals, and production methods
- Previous experience preferred in a full service restaurant, preferably in a wine bar or tasting room. Wine Sale experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information about wines in an approachable and engaging manner
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and helpful attitude towards customers.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
- Able to stand, walk for longer periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays/ weekends. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about wine.
- Has reliable transportation and is on time.
Bonus: Wine certifications from WSET, CSW or Court of Masters
